Geothermal Energy

The energy derived from the hot water, stream and gas resources including the chemical substances formed by the accumulated heat deep into the earth crust is used. Geothermal energy is a kind of new, renewable, sustainable, inexhaustible, cheap, reliable, environmentally friendly, and green energy.

Smyrna’s greenhouses are heated with the use of hot water derived from the geothermal well belonging to the Akça Enerji within Akça Holding. In heating the greenhouses, necessary conditions can be ensured through the geothermal energy independent of the meteorological conditions such as wind, rain and sun. In the greenhouse heating, a difference up to 25C° can be obtained. And also, we add flavor and aroma to our tomatoes through the carbon dioxide derived from the geothermal wells.
